Keo's Volunteer Fire Department

Effective  February 1, 2009  Keo Volunteer Fire Departments will have a new ISO fire rating.  We have changed from a Class 9 to a Class 6.  What does this mean:?  It means that your home owners insurance will go down as much as 40 percent. Also the department is going through 40 hours of 1st responder training which will enable them to come to your aide and help you if there is an emergency before an ambulance can arrive.

All firefighters are now certified and the town is covered with volunteers for the fire department 24/7.  A mutual Aid agreement has been signed between Scott and Keo.  If there is a call either department will help the other.  This will increase response time for both areas. Some of the firefighters have been trained as first responders.  In case of a medical emergency they can assist you until an ambulance can arrive.  When you dial 911 the first responders will be notified immediately.
